A small herd of Mamenchisaurus wander along a riverside in what today will become Sichuan, China.
Wanted to go with perspective to show off how big the animal was, and how long its neck was. Also, used that color band pattern because I figured a neck that long would be great for display. Mamenchisaurus ("Mamenchi -horse-gate brook- lizard") was a genus of large sauropods characterized by its extremely long neck, both in sheer size and in proportion. the neck itself was almost half of the total length of the dinosaur, and in some large specimens, it reached about 10.5 metres in length. It also had an extreme number of vertebrae, being comprised of as much as 19 vertebrae. The entire animal measured between 22 and 24 metres in length. |

De hecho, un esqueleto montado sue lo que me inspiró a dibujarlo en esa posición... bueno, eso y las reconstrucciones de los noventa, donde todavía les ponían los cuellos laaargos y hacia arriba, pero ya se veían más activos y ágiles.
Ah, y gracias, un cuello de ese tamaño hace una bandera perfecta.
