Hello, video gamers!

Well, I've been planning to do this for a while, but due to many reasons (mainly me studying for an exam I just presented), I hadn't found the time to update my Journal.
I've been wanting to review several things I've been playing and watching over the last months, but since I forgot most of the movies I saw, let's just skip to the games.
~Borderlands. A FPS with lots of RPG elements. Or, more accurately, a RPG played from a first person perspective (which is why I enjoyed it so much). Think of it as Diablo II but with machine guns and the according perspective. Frankly, after mere hours of playing it it became one of my favourite games. But, I've been playing it since at least half a year. And it's important to point out that because the next game is...
~Dead Island. Oh, man. So much hype about this one and it ended up lacking much in the way of narrative and atmosphere. I hardly felt like I was in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and after a while I started to feel bad for the poor zombies. It was developed by another company, but it feels too much like Borderlands with zombies (which thanks to the Borderlands DLC, that stops being a distinctive characteristic). And the women are just so fugly in the game. Anyway, the jungle and outbreak settings made me think it would make a great base for a Jurassic Park game.
~Spore. Oh, I've been waiting so long to play this one (never got around actually getting it, for some reason). And it was totally worth it. Well, not exactly. While it's fun to design your creatures and make them evolve (think about sentient Raptors or sentient SPIDERS!), once you get to the tribal stage the fun starts to slowly fade away. Nothing is as fun as leading a hunting pack, and that lasts too little.
~Touhou Hisotsutenkoku (or Touhou 12.3). When a friend of mine downloaded it, I was more or less apathetic towards it, but when a fighting game is played with characters straight out of a shooter, you get insane and frantic matches. A great choice to kill time.

And that's it for the games. Now I want to discuss something that recently happened to me.
Yesterday... no, wait, let's go right back to the beggining. Last weekend, I received a few text messages from my ex (she still tries to keep in touch with me for some reason), and the last of them was along the lines of "do you think what we had can work out again?" Of course I said no, but she kept insisting that I should at least think about it. And I'm not gonna lie, I still like her a lot, but that's still not enough to make me feel like being with her again, no matter how much she promises things will be different this time.
And to top that, yesterday I was walking through downtown when I heard a familiar voice after passing in front of a bar. It was an old friend (that I've actually mentioned a couple of times), who glomped me and then started a friendly talk. She was with another friend of hers and after introducing ourselves we arranged to go party later. Later on, I ran into a common friend (which I had no idea was a common friend) and the girls convinced him to join in. And while we were chatting and the girls were dancing, he said something like "you may have a shot with her (the girl I just met that day)". That immediately made me nervous. I had no expectations and all of a sudden I was terrified at the prospect of asking her out because there would actually be consequences. At the end of the night, both him and my other friend parted ways because of different reasons and I asked her out before leaving (after all, I had an exam today). And... she gave me her number. I have her number. Now, here's a riddle for you. Why does the fool torture himself when he's got the phone of a reasonably attractive woman?
Sheesh... I'm a little hateful creature. Anyways, take care, y'all!

Mmmm.... journal skins. <-<

HEY! Spore!
